About Bunbuku

BUNBUKU is an online-only bookstore based in Tokyo.

We just opened in 2025, so we're a brand-new venture.

At BUNBUKU, we carefully select and offer a wide variety of books from all over the world. This includes photobooks, artbooks created by artists themselves, niche subculture titles, and even children's picture books, among many others.

Our collection spans both new and used books. You'll find handmade ZINEs (small-press publications), single-sheet ephemera, works by emerging artists who are about to make waves, established veterans, and even rare, hard-to-find books and out-of-print editions.

Every book you see at BUNBUKU is something the owner has personally curated, thinking, "This is truly wonderful!"

While we're based in Japan, we leverage our unique perspective, deep knowledge, and personal experience as a practicing artist. We also make the most of Japan's extensive network for collecting rare and old books from around the world.

This allows us to gather works from intriguing publishers and artists globally, offering our customers a diverse and fascinating selection of books.
