For about two and a half years from the spring of 1987, I took the Tobu Isesaki Line from Asakusa, then changed to the Sano Line, Kiryu Line, and other lines, visiting various towns along the line, seeing various scenery, and taking photographs. It was a pleasant and enjoyable experience to walk through an unfamiliar town with few people on the roads in the middle of the day on a sunny day. (From the afterword)
