David Hockney
Born July 9, 1937 in Bradford, England.
He went on to study at the Royal College of Art in London, where he quickly distinguished himself.
He is known worldwide as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, working in a wide range of fields including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, and performing arts. He is particularly famous for his series of paintings of California swimming pools and his photo collages, known as "joiners," which combine multiple photographs.
Starting with early figurative paintings, he went on to paint landscapes, portraits, still lifes, and more, using vivid colors and a unique perspective.
Since the 1970s, he has been actively involved in photography and stage design, and in recent years has been constantly pursuing new methods of expression, such as creating digital drawings using the iPad.
