Masato Seto began taking photographs in the summer of 1995, and this photo book captures couples relaxing on plastic sheets in parks and green spaces in Tokyo, particularly Yoyogi Park.
Through images of couples lying down in the grass under a tree or in a plaza, the artist portrays private moments in public places and the delicate nuances of human relationships.
The obi text includes a quote from photographer Nobuyoshi Araki, "The truth of acting and direction, this is very much like a photograph," which makes us think about the boundary between reality in a photograph and direction.
This book was published as a large 58-page book and is one of Seto's representative works.
