Into Winter / Tokyo: A City Heading for Death is a photobook published in 1990, featuring photographs of Tokyo taken by Nobuyoshi Araki in 1989.
The book primarily features vertical photographs of Tokyo taken in 1989, a period when Araki was confronting his wife Yoko's illness. The impending death of his wife and the city of Tokyo, transforming through redevelopment, are presented in parallel.
