Inbe Kaori★ has been taking portraits of women for 10 years. After careful dialogue with the women who applied to be her subjects, she creates images based on their life stories, and through the setting, brings them to fruition on the screen as imaginary landscapes.

What emerges is an unspoken anger towards a society that demands "normalcy," as well as anger and sadness directed towards oneself. The humor and irony that seep out from deep within these emotions bring tension and elegance to the photographs.

By daring to expose what is often seen as "flaws" or "weakness," the women begin to take on a unique beauty and sexiness. Their figures, which stand in opposition to the cityscape and posters, are portraits of individuals, as well as a sharply illuminated portrait of "Japan."

The title, an allusion to "The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter," expresses the artist's determination to distance himself from the tides of society and return to his roots. His gaze, which captures anger as a vital force and the energy of the soul that transcends the face and body, quietly yet violently provokes the viewer.
There are two types of covers.
