PIPELINE ICELAND/ALASKA

A photobook by Gentaro Ishizuka. This volume compiles works from his "Pipeline" series, shot in Iceland and Alaska.

The Trans-Alaska Pipeline, approximately 1,280 kilometers long, stretches north to south, cutting through frozen ground and wilderness from the oil fields of Alaska's Arctic Ocean to the ice-free port of Valdez on the Pacific coast. Ishizuka recounts how he was strongly drawn to this man-made structure running through the wilderness when he visited Alaska with the intention of photographing untouched nature.
