Kozue Takagi garnered early attention for her talent, winning both the Canon New Cosmos of Photography Grand Prize and the EPSON Color Imaging Contest Semi-Grand Prix in 2006.
Her eagerly anticipated debut photobook consists of two volumes: the straight photography collection MID and the collage work GROUND. Although their styles differ, these two works can be considered like twins to the artist.
MID captures landscapes, animals, and people appearing as if on a dark stage, in the "space" between "birth" and "death"—a moment that can be seen as everything and simultaneously a void. It presents the sharpness of countless lives and deaths, alongside a sensation of connecting to another dimension, making it an expression that transcends mere straight photography.
