A collection of essays on photography that re-examines what photography is and what it means to see. This is one volume in the Photo Livre series, which explores thought surrounding photographic expression by traversing criticism, literature, art, and philosophy.

Does photography capture reality, or does it deviate from it? In this book, Shino Kuraishi re-examines established understandings of photography by referencing photographic expressions and photographers' practices since the modern era.

Beyond explaining photographic history and techniques, the book delves into the very act of seeing photographs, making it a thought-provoking read for those who consider photography as an expressive medium.
