This book, featuring photographs taken over half a century by nature photojournalist Manabu Miyazaki, deciphers traces of Japan's forests and wildlife. From records captured by his independently developed unmanned cameras, clues emerge for contemplating the relationship between humans and nature.

Footprints, feeding traces, droppings, feathers, and animal trails left in the forest. Manabu Miyazaki has continuously tracked animal behavior using these as clues. In addition to images of wildlife captured by unmanned cameras, this book covers diverse themes such as ecosystems in disaster-stricken areas, invasive species, and animals living in human residential zones.

More than just a record, the content conveys the very perspective of observing nature and deciphering the world from its traces.
