This is a guide to photo books by Yoshiyuki Morioka. It introduces 108 photo books, from new releases to rare books, both domestic and international, that you'd want to give to someone, highlighting their appeal.

This book is based on the serial "Shashin no Hon no Mori" from the magazine "Camera Biyori" and "Shashinshu o Dozo" from "Gekkan Hyakka." It contains photo books and letters actually given to someone, photo books recommended by Yoshiyuki Morioka, and newly written essays.

This book doesn't just introduce photo books as works of art; it also explores how a single volume can be passed on to another person through the act of "giving it to someone." It's about quietly passing on how a photographer saw the world to someone else. It's a book that makes photo books a little more accessible.

The photographs were taken by Taro Hirano. The photo books themselves are carefully photographed, making it enjoyable to view as a book. In the middle, there's an essay titled "Morioka Shoten no Koto" about the Morioka Shoten bookstore that was operated in a retro building in Kayabacho. For anyone interested in photo books, used bookstores, and the act of giving books.
