This book is a collection of landscapes by Picasso, collected between 1890 and 1912, and traces his transition from his early academic techniques to avant-garde expression from the perspective of landscape painting.

While studying realistic depictions of nature in his youth, Picasso eventually incorporated the symbolic emotional expressions of his Blue and Rose Periods into his landscapes, eventually establishing the revolutionary perspective that led to Cubism. This book traces this process through landscape paintings, with detailed commentary accompanying each work, making it easy to understand the historical background and the artist's creative growth.

A must-have book for researchers, collectors, and landscape art fans, allowing you to experience Picasso's artistic transformation through his landscape paintings.

Pablo Picasso (1881-1973)

Born October 25, 1881 in Malaga, Spain.
His father was an art teacher, so he received painting training from an early age. In 1895, he moved with his family to Barcelona, where he studied at La Lonja School of Fine Arts. In 1897, he entered the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid, but was unable to adapt to formal education and pursued his own artistic expression.

He moved to Paris in 1900 and began his career as an artist. His Blue Period (a series of melancholic works with a blue base) was from 1901 to 1904, and his Rose Period (warm-toned figures and circus subjects) was from 1904 to 1906. In 1907, he produced Les Demoiselles d'Avignon, a precursor to Cubism. He developed Analytical Cubism together with Georges Braque.

From 1917 onwards, he developed a diverse range of artistic expression, incorporating elements of classical and surrealism. In 1937, he produced his masterpiece, "Guernica," influenced by the Spanish Civil War. Over the course of his life, he left behind over 50,000 works in a wide range of genres, including painting, sculpture, prints and ceramics.

He died on April 8, 1973 in Mougins, France.
As a master of 20th century art, he continues to have an immeasurable influence not only on painting but on contemporary art as a whole.
