This book is a compilation of 246 carefully selected photographs from the vast number of photographs that Issei Suda has taken over the past 30 years, from his early works to his most recent works. The works, taken on the streets of Tokyo and all over the country, vividly highlight the "human memories" hidden in the landscapes and the activities of the people who live there.
The cover design, created by book designer Suzuki Hitoshi, also contributes to highlighting the book's unique worldview.

It's my personal curiosity that stops me from staring.
It is only after an object of personal interest has been frozen in time that we realize it is a product of a particular era.
If my eyes become the eyes of the times and are reduced to the memories of a different individual, this is nothing other than the universality of the "photograph" itself, which is possessed by the borrowed subject.

Human appearances and fragments of time reflected in the landscape can become a thread of personal memories for the viewer. Even for me, the work is merely evidence of a phenomenon. Memory lies hidden behind it. (From the afterword)
