This book by Mitsuyuki Takemura is a catalog of photographs published in conjunction with an exhibition held at Ginza Nikon Salon in 1991. It was published by AIM PRESS.

Born in Kyoto, Takemura graduated from the Japan Institute of Photography, worked in the Takashimaya Photography Department, and then became independent. He studied under Takeji Iwamiya and has been actively exhibiting in the Kansai region since the 1980s.

The works collected in this book capture the tenuousness of human relationships and the shadow-like existence of people in crowds, all while being immersed in the hustle and bustle of the city. The images of commuters in rush hour and the inorganic cityscapes evoke a dry sense of sorrow and the reality of human existence in the city.

This book, composed with the photographer's own text, is a record of a quiet and sharp gaze that captured the subtle presence of people swaying in the urban space. It also serves as an important document conveying a part of photographic activities in the Kansai region.

Born in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture in 1945. Photographer.
After graduating from the Japan Institute of Photography in 1972, he worked at the Takashimaya Photography Department for about 10 years before becoming independent.

From 1980, he studied under Takeji Iwamiya. Since then, he has been active in the Kansai region, holding numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout the 1980s and 1990s. He presented his works at Ginza Nikon Salon, Fuji Photo Salon, Photo Space 24, and other venues, gaining attention for series such as "Urban Fragments," "Actual Scenery," and "City as a Capsule."

He is known for his style of quietly capturing the tenuousness of human existence and the presence hidden within landscapes, with urban crowds and fragments of daily life as his subjects. Through publications in newspapers and magazines, and participation in international exhibitions, he continued to present his work and is one of the photographers who contributed to a trend in Kansai photography.
