Naohide Yamamoto (1932–2000)

Born in Tokyo on October 20, 1932. Educator. Died on June 27, 2000.

Graduated from the Department of Political Science, First Faculty of Political Science and Economics, Waseda University. Served as a teacher and later as vice principal at Kichijo Girls' Junior & Senior High School. He dedicated himself to sex education that emphasized self-determination of sexuality as a human right, and continued educational and writing activities concerning children's bodies, sexuality, and relationships with others.

In 1982, he co-founded the "Human Beings and Sexuality" Education Research Council with Michiko Takayanagi and served as its representative director.
