Masayuki Yoshinaga's photo book "Nippon Takaine" is a representative work that vividly captures the lives of Asian people living in Japan. Published in 1999, it had long been difficult to obtain, but has now been re-released as a much-anticipated reprint.

It consists of color photographs and collages depicting the daily lives of people who have come to Japan from various countries such as Thailand, Myanmar, Pakistan, and Mongolia. It portrays the realistic lives of people with different cultures and backgrounds living in the city of Japan. One of the unique features of this book is its distinctive editing, which includes the national anthems of each country in both their native languages and Japanese.

Yoshinaga, who has consistently photographed bosozoku (motorcycle gangs), youth culture, and minorities, maintains a sharp yet somewhat humorous and friendly perspective in this work. This book, which vividly captures the atmosphere of Tokyo in the late 20th century as it rapidly "Asianized," is a document that conveys a cross-section of the era and remains a powerful work.
